So in listening to my friend preach on the lame man being healed by Peter in Acts. He made the point in his sermon that we all go to church for something. This lame man went to the synagogue because people are nice there and occasionally, he can get some money for some food or other essentials.
Today, we are just the same. We all go to church for something; some go to church because they want to be perceived as nice people; some go to keep the peace with their spouse; some go because there is no other place they know of that could possibly provide help in their situation; some go because they are at their wits end with their kids, parents, spouse, jobs, health, finances... you name it.
Why do you go to church? Is it what you do on Sunday? Are you broken and seeking to be healed? Are you lost in your relationships with your kids, spouse, or parents and seeking a way out of the maze?
Why do you go to church?
We go to God looking for alot of things, sometimes those things are more physical than spiritual. And often we don't neccesarily find what we are looking for, but in the same way that Peter said, 'I don't have any money for you but this I do have, get up and walk' I hope this blog might help someone get up and walk.
Grace and peace,
