Huge Roach and Alcohol is Poison

So I found this HUGE roach cruising through the lab, flying around, and just generally being a nuisance. So, being a good scientist and knowing that alcohol is poison, I grabbed my bottle of 70% ethanol and starting hosing the dude. You know it is much easier to whack a drunk cockroach than one that is in full control of it's faculties.

After a few good hits with the alcohol, the bug hid under the centrifuge and then reappeared on the other side of some boxes on the counter with it's wings all splayed out and you could tell it was licking itself to get dry. In that condition, the bug was in no state to evade my attempts to usher it into the great beyond. It was funny, the drunk bug fell off a ledge and wound up upside down immobile before it's inevitable demise.

So the moral of the story, don't invest in harsh toxic chemical, just get a spray bottle with 70% ethanol and hose down the the little buggers you see running around the house. Its easy to get the jump on an impaired insect.
